Some 100 youngsters from eight charitable institutions have received complimentary tickets for this evening's Joseph Calleja-Michael Bolton concert thanks to an initiative by the Maltese tenor.
The initiative was taken with the support of NNG Promotions and the main sponsors of the event - HSBC, Vodafone, Malta International Airport, Charles Grech Company Ltd and General Soft Drinks.
The 100 complimentary tickets were distributed to youngsters residing in Fatima House, Salesians' Osanna Pia home, St Patrick's home, Sliema, Don Bosco home, Balzan, Dar Santa Tereza, Żurrieq, Dar Sacra Familja Żabbar, Dar San Ġużepp, St Venera and Dar Fra Diego, Ħamrun.
Mr Calleja explained that even though his career necessitated frequent travel all over the world, it was Malta and the Maltese who remain closest to his heart.
"I trust that the evening will be a memorable and magical experience for all the children who receive these tickets," Mr Calleja said.
