The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin said it would consider industrial action if the Management and Personnel Office did not immediately address the issue of chief information officers.

The union said it had for months been asking the government to give such officers the chance of a permanent appointment in light of their definite contract, as in the rest of the public sector.

It accused the government of failing to honour the work contracts as laid down in its call for applications.
