The Graffitti group has appealed to the authorities to formulate a national plan for the better use of property in Malta.

The appeal was made in the light of recent census data that the group said clearly showed the strength of the local construction industry and the lack of sustainable planning.

The amount of developed property increased by 47,821 units and vacant property by 17,000, bringing the latter up to 53,000, it said.

Graffitti said this state of affairs confirmed the irrationality of extending the development zone.
