The European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA) has issued a call for applications to host Comenius Assistantships.

With this call, pre-schools, primary and secondary schools can apply to host a Comenius assistant, who could be a prospective teacher of any subject.

This opportunity is ideal for schools that wish to provide their pupils with additional language learning skills by having a native speaker assist the local teacher.

There are also potential cultural benefits as the assistant working in the host school can offer their cultural experience to the students and teachers.

The deadline for applications is tomorrow. Schools applying should first submit the eForm application online and make sure that the ‘Submission Confirmation’ is received after submitting it.

A hard copy of this confirmation should then be attached to the printed application form submitted at the EUPA office at 36, Old Mint Street, Valletta.

Applicants must include one original hard copy and two identical copies of the application. All copies must be spiral bound separately (no heating binding).

Applicants must also view the National Administrative Priorities on the ‘Resources’ page and abide by the instructions for the specific sectoral programme.

The application form can be found at www.llp.eupa.org.mt on the ‘Resources’ page.

This call is being issued under the auspices of the European Commission, specifically from the Lifelong Learning Programme.

More information about the EUPA can be found at www.eupa.org.mt.
