Msida St Joseph forward Pedro Dos Santos Calcado, aka Pedrinho, is expected to fly out to Asia today after a club in China expressed an interest in him.

Robert Farrugia, the Msida SJ president, confirmed that Pedrinho, who was initially linked with a move to a Spanish club, will have a short trial with an unnamed Chinese team.

Pedrinho is keen to test himself in a foreign league while Msida have said they will not stand in the way of a player whose contract runs out at the end of this season.

Whatever the outcome of his negotiations in China, Pedrinho has promised to return to Malta in time to play for Msida in their league match against Ħamrun Spartans, scheduled for February 15.
