BWSC chief executive Soren Barkholt insisted today that no bribery was involved in the granting to his company of the €200 million Enemalta contract for the extension of the Delimara power station.

Mr Barkholt this morning had a meeting with the Auditor General in the wake of Danish media claims, highlighted by Opposition leader Joseph Muscat, that BWSC had been involved in bribery to win contracts in several other countries,

Mr Barkholt in comments to the press said BWSC never bribed anyone, and the claims had been investigated by the Danish police who found that lacked substance.

Mr Barkholt is to meet Dr Muscat later today.
