Local handball will entail a busy schedule during the coming days involving both MHA competitions as well as international matches.

The men's league gets underway today at the University Sports Complex when Super Cup winners Aloysians ProMinent face Kavallieri Kia Motors while La Salle Nespak entertain Salesians HC.

Aloysians will surely be doing their best to recover from their upset to La Salle last week in the MHA Cup. On the other hand, Kavallieri have shown considerable improvement over last season and look strong outsiders for this year's campaign.

La Salle are firm favourites to win the title as they seem to be a very compact side. Their opponents today, Salesians, must show much better play than their performances so far as they are seriously lacking some solid teamwork.

Today also marks the start of the Sports Experience boys U-16 league when La Salle Danone face rivals La Salle B while Aloysians ProMinent meet Salesians.

Tomorrow, a ladies international tournament will take place at St Aloysius from 12.30 p.m. onwards. Four Maltese teams and one Irish side will be taking part.

The same teams will feature in a junior international tournament on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the University Sports Complex. This will be followed by the women national team's international match at 8 p.m. versus Meath Handball Club.
