PN leader Simon Busuttil is in Brussels for a meeting of leaders of the European Popular Party.

The meeting is being held ahead of the EU summit meeting, due to be held later today.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is to attend the EU meeting, which will focus on migration.

Dr Busuttil in a statement said the EU needed to take firm decisions to tackle migration, decisions which should actually have been taken a long time ago. This, he said, was not an issue which any single country could solve and he hoped the EU would manage to achieve consensus.

Those present for the EPP meeting will include European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker, the president of the European Council Donald Tusk, German Chancellor Angela and Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.
