Business Network International (BNI), the world’s largest and most successful business referral organisation, is opening its doors in Malta.

BNI began in California 25 years ago and has since expanded to 47 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. The organisation has seen continued membership growth every year since its formation, despite numerous recessions.

Through structured weekly meetings, BNI helps its members find new business through referrals from other members. There are also training programmes in public speaking, giving presentations and networking skills – all vital areas of proficiency for businesspeople.

David Bullock, who has over 12 years experience in establishing and running BNI chapters within the UK and South Africa, has brought this international phenomenon to Malta.

“Following a meeting with the Maltese High Commission in London, I was encouraged to visit the island and was very impressed at Malta’s business potential.

“We have had a series of information meetings during the last few months where we have presented the BNI concept to many local organisations, and are now seeing the growth of Malta’s core groups,” Mr Bullock explained.

Mr Bullock underwent training in the US by the organisation’s founder, Dr Misner, to set up and run Malta’s BNI operation.

“We are currently holding meetings every Tuedsay at the Palace Hotel in Sliema. The meetings start at 7 a.m. and run until 8.30 a.m., letting busy businesspeople meet and network before the working day begins,” Mr Bullock said.

Each BNI chapter only admits one representative of each trade or profession, thereby providing that member with exclusivity in their area of expertise.
