Burglars raided a shop in Triq Salvu Psaila, Birkirkara on Wednesday night and made off with Lm1,000 worth of watches, the police said yesterday.

The police said they were informed of the break-in at about 5.30 a.m. yesterday.

The burglars gained access to the shop by shattering a glass pane in the show window, the police said.

Duty Magistrate Giovanni Grixti appointed a team of court experts to help in an inquiry.

The police are investigating.
