Broadcaster John Bundy said today that he did not know whether to laugh or cry over comments made about him by One Productions chairman Jason Micallef to The Times.

He however stressed that he has no dispute with Labour leader Joseph Muscat.

The Times reported last week that the breakfast show on One TV, presented by Mr Bundy, had been stopped.

According to Mr Micallef, there was no bad blood with Mr Bundy, who will continue to present his Friday night programme Affari Tagħna.

"No one was axed. My hands were tied," Mr Micallef had said, explaining that company 26th Frame felt the programme was no longer financially viable.

A spokesman for 26th Frame confirmed this was the reason.

But in a comment to timesofmalta.com today, Mr Bundy said: I read what Mr. Jason Micallef said and really don't know whether I should laugh or cry."

Asked to clarify, Mr Bundy said he did not wish to comment much, other than to say that those who stood on a couch to criticise should know the real situation. He stressed that he was always honest in what he said and did.

Mr Bundy also stressed that he had no dispute with the Labour Party or Joseph Muscat.

"I respect Joseph Muscat and he respects me" he said, while thanking Dr Muscat.

Bonġu Bundy has been replaced by a news breakfast show produced by One TV's newsroom.
