Guidance teachers and counsellors are having to work on cases of bullying in schools on a daily basis, Education Minister Dolores Cristina told Labour MP Evarist Bartolo in answer to a parliamentary question.

Referring to a particular case at the Ġużè d’Amato School at Paola, Minister Cristina said the culprits had been immediately excluded from school. A case conference would be called in the next few days, to be attended by professionals of Appoġġ services, with a view to formulating a plan with necessary measures for both victims and aggressors.

The students in the Paola case were receiving services from the Anti-Bullying Unit, and the school had run a campaign to instil a conscience about bullying.
