The Budget should help build a feel good factor momentum through the effective assistance of households and the business community.
This should be done while ensuring that vulnerable categories of society were well supported by much needed good governance, the Confederation of Malta Trade Unoins said in its proposals for the Budget.
The CMTU encouraged the government to further push for positive growth and said it expected the country to be more ambitious in strategy by supporting consistent productivity and introducing more tax incentives to complement innovation whilst being cautious in public spending.
"The Confederation will continue to insist with government to focus and invest in the true mechanics of Malta’s economic growth – a strengthened and thriving middle class, support a renewed flexible labour market and the further need to step up all efforts to further promote a healthy business profile for Malta with the aim of attracting foreign investment to the country."
