Two Qormi brothers were this morning charged with attempting to seriously injure each other with a knife and a shotgun.

Keith Agius, 23, was charged with threatening his 21-year-old brother Justin with a knife while Justin was charged with threatening Keith with a shotgun.

Keith was charged with attempting to seriously injure Justin and slightly injuring him while Justin was charged with the illegal possession of a firearm.

They both pleaded not guilty and were released on bail against a deposit of €1,000 each and a personal guarantee of €3,000 each.

The court ordered Keith to move to his grandmother’s house and not to speak to Justin.

Magistrate Miriam Hayman told the brothers it was a pity they had not talked the problem over as they would not have ended in this situation.
