Two brothers this afternoon denied assaulting and injuring a warden in Żejtun in a row over illegal parking.

Clayton Muscat, 28, from Żejtun and Lawrence Muscat, 34, from Fgura were charged with assaulting and slightly injuring a public official and causing damages amounting to less than €250. The incident took place on yesterday afternoon.

They were further charged with disobeying the warden’s orders and preventing him from carrying out his duties.

Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona granted the two men bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000 each.

Inspector Johann Fenech prosecuted while lawyers Keith Borg and Carlos Bugeja appeared for the accused.
