Two Pakistani-born brothers have pleaded guilty to charges they plotted a terrorist attack against New York landmarks.
The pleas were entered today by 32-year-old Sheheryar Alam Qazi and brother Raees Alam Qazi, 22.
In addition to terrorism support charges, they admitted plotting to assault two US marshals while being escorted in the Miami court complex.
US District Judge Beth Bloom said both men will be sentenced on June 5. Raees Qazi faces up to 35 years in prison, while Sheheryar Qazi faces a 20-year maximum term.
The alleged plot never got beyond the planning stage. The FBI says Raees Qazi travelled to the city in 2012 to scout targets but did not attempt an attack.
The brothers were both arrested in November 2012.
Key evidence includes FBI wiretap and other communications intercepts.
