A Briton was today jailed for 15 years and fined €20,000 after he admitted to importing eight kilos of cannabis resin on May 6, 2011.

The prosecution said the accused, Stephen John Bradbury, had conspired with two Indian nationals to import the drugs.

He boarded a flight from New Delhi to Malta via Dubai with the drug in a false compartment of his luggage. He was to be paid €5,000.

The drug had a street value of €50,000.
