A young British woman who made headlines last year after being caught wearing the contents of a stolen suitcase yesterday dropped assault charges she had filed against a fellow inmate.

Shannon-Leigh Williams, 20, withdrew her criminal complaint against Aisha Mohammed during a sitting before magistrate Aaron Bugeja.

The court explained that she would not be able to revive criminal proceedings once the complaint was withdrawn.

“No, I forgive her and that’s fine,” Ms Williams replied.

In June, she had been fined €200 for contempt of court and remanded in custody because of her “arrogance”.

She had insisted she owned eight dresses identical to those that had been stolen from the suitcase and said “Kiss my a**” as she was escorted out of the courtroom.

A month later, Ms Williams was in court again, charged with assaulting a prison warder after refusing to submit to a routine strip-search.
