A British diplomat has been found dead in Jamaica and police are investigating the circumstances, the Foreign Office said yesterday.

The body of honorary consul John Terry was found outside his home near the tourist resort of Montego Bay on Wednesday, local media reports said. The 65-year-old was found with a cord and a piece of clothing tied around his neck and he appeared to have been beaten, The Gleaner daily newspaper website said.
