Cheyrou: French midfielder Bruno Cheyrou said yesterday he would probably leave Olympique Marseille at the end of the season to return to Liverpool. Cheyrou, 26, who has made three appearances for France, joined Marseille on loan from Liverpool last year. Coach Philippe Troussier rarely includes him in his starting line-up. "I still belong to Liverpool and I'll probably go back there," Cheyrou said. "I'll talk to the Liverpool officials and we'll see if they want me to stay or if I have to look for another club," he added.

Buckley: South Africa striker Delron Buckley signed a four-year contract with Borussia Dortmund yesterday sealing an end-of-season transfer from Bundesliga rivals Arminia Bielefeld. Buckley, 27, has cost Dortmund a transfer sum of €425,000 ($555,300), his new club said in a statement. His contract runs until June 30, 2009.

Rangers switch: Brazilian defender Paulo Andre has urged Rangers to sign him after impressing manager Alex McLeish during a trial. McLeish said last week he was impressed by the 21-year-old who plays for Brazilian side Guarani. "My time at Ibrox was a good experience," he said. "Rangers have an outstanding set-up and I was impressed, any player in the world would dream of playing for them and I'm no exception."

Chile: Nelson Acosta returned for a second stint as Chile coach, replacing Juvenal Olmos, who was fired after a telephone row with the head of the country's football association a week ago. Acosta led Chile to the 1998 World Cup finals and confirmed his appointment in a television interview. "I said don't worry about the economic problem, I want to help my country," Acosta said after media reports suggested Chile's National Association of Professional Football (ANFP) could not meet his wage demands.
