In Spain: The Spanish Football League (LFP) has said that the nine matches that could affect the title, European places and relegation will all kick-off at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Roma: UEFA has turned down an appeal by Serie A side Roma against a 75,000 Swiss francs fine for crowd trouble during their Champions League quarter-final match against Man. United in April. A UEFA spokesman told Reuters yesterday that the organisation's appeals body had found no reason to overturn the original sanction handed down by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body.

Cannavaro: Defender Fabio Cannavaro would like to finish his career at hometown club Napoli, his agent said, but the Italy captain will stay at Real Madrid for the foreseeable future rather than move to the promoted Serie A side.

Betis: Relegation-threatened Real Betis have parted company with coach Luis Fernandez following the team's 5-0 defeat at home to Osasuna last weekend. The club said that the board of directors had reached a mutual agreement with the former French international to rescind his contract which was due to expire at the end of June. Paco Chaparro will take charge of the side for the final league match at Racing Santander next Sunday.

Linsi: Urs Linsi is leaving FIFA after five years as general secretary, the world governing body said. Linsi, 55, a former banker, took over the position following the acrimonious departure of Michel Zen-Ruffinen in 2002.
