Opposition whip Joe Mizzi raised a breach of his privilege complaint against the newspaper Illum and against columnist Roberta Metsola Tedesco Triccas.

Mr Mizzi said that in an article on parliamentary pairing in the May 3 edition of Illum, Ms Metsola Tedesco Triccas had attributed irresponsibility on both his own part and the opposition's, denigrated him personally and the opposition, and constituted threats to him personally in the carrying out of his parliamentary duties.

Mr Speaker Louis Galea took note of Mr Mizzi's complaint and promised to investigate and give a ruling at a later stage.
