During a short visit to the islands last weekend, former Roma and Brazil stalwart Aldair paid a visit to the Roma Club Malta.

The 1994 World Cup winner was given a warm welcome by the local tifosi.

Aldair was introduced to those present by Roma Club Malta president Ray Sant who described the Brazilian as a world class player, one of the best ever to wear a Roma shirt.

Aldair spent most of his career in the Serie A with Roma, making the first of his 415 appearances for the club in 1990.

Roma decided to retire the no.6 jersey when Aldair left the club in 2003.

At the Roma Supporters Club, Aldair was accompanied by Manuela De Conciliis (regular contributor for Deja Roma, the official Roma Club Malta publication), Dr Kevin Deguara (the former Msida St Joseph president), Steve Abela (Sliema Wanderers president) and Miss Malta Martha Fenech.
