Three boys have been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting two other boys of primary school age in a park in Bristol, police said yesterday.
Two 12-year-olds and an 11-year-old were held in connection with the incident in Hengrove Park, Bristol.
But police were quick to play down any comparisons with this month's widely publicised case in Doncaster in which two young brothers admitted a series of horrific attacks on two other boys.
"This incident doesn't warrant comparison with a recent incident in Doncaster, which some media are making," said a spokesman for Avon and Somerset police.
"In this case the victims have suffered no physical injuries. Nevertheless, they and their families are understandably shaken and distressed."
