A 15-year-old boy from Mosta suffered fractures this afternoon when the car he was travelling in was involved in a head-on crash with another vehicle in the old road which from Zabbar leads to Marsascala.
The crash took place shortly before 4 p.m. causing extensive damage to the two cars - a Toyota Carina and Citroen ZX. The boy was in the Toyota.
The Citroen also crashed into a wall. Such was the force of impact that its engine was wrenched off the chassis and ended up on the road. Its driver, a 28-year-old foreigner, resident at Hal Far, was slightly injured.
The road was closed to all traffic.
