Antonio Tarver recorded a unanimous points decision victory over Clinton Woods to win the IBF light-heavyweight title in Florida on Saturday.

Tarver, 27-4 (20 KOs), controlled the action throughout, circling the ring and firing straight left hands. He was rarely pressed by the Briton who failed to impose himself and refused to throw many punches, despite the instructions of his corner.

All three judges awarded the fight to Tarver by scores of 116-112, 117-111 and 119-109.
