Trading in HSBC shares opened the week at Lm4.911 on Monday and closed yesterday's session at Lm4.909. Total turnover amounted to 47,207 shares changing hands over 76 deals. During the week, trading ranged between Lm4.911 and Lm4.90. As yesterday's session drew to a close 920 shares at Lm4.90 and 1,096 shares at Lm4.91 were the best unsatisfied bids and offers respectively.

As yesterday's session drew to a close, bids for 2,000 shares at Lm1.43 and offers of 2,581 shares at Lm1.49 made up the best unsatisfied closing positions.

In a company announcement issued by Maltacom plc the company announced that its annual general meeting will take place on Friday, May 20, 2005. A number of ordinary resolutions one of which will be the recommendation of a net dividend of Lm0.021 per share to all shareholders registered until yesterday will be put forward during the meeting. Shareholders on the company's register until yesterday will also be entitled to vote at the forthcoming Annual General meeting of Maltacom plc.

In a company announcement issued on Wednesday, the board of directors of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc stated that they shall be meeting on Wednesday to consider and approve the financial results for the year ended January 31, 2005 and to consider the declaration of a dividend to be recommended to the annual general meeting.

In a company announcement issued yesterday, the board of directors of International Hotel Investments plc stated that they will be meeting on Wednesday to approve the financial statements for the period ended December 31, 2004.

The Malta Stock Exchange share index increased by 34.284 points or 0.10 per cent over the week and now stands at 3,469.286.
