Bank of Valletta is investing €13 million this year on an upgrading of its IT services, CEO Tonio Depasquale said.

He was speaking at the inauguration of a new bank branch in Triq il-Halel, Bugibba, which itself cost the bank €1.7 million.

The branch offers the full range of banking and investment services including a new state-of-the-art ATM which comes complete with touch screens and accepts cash and cheque deposits without the need for an envelope.

The bank said the new branch was designed to reflect Bank of Valletta’s brand standards where customers will get a personalized service in a private and friendly environment.

The branch was inaugurated by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech.

Mr Depasquale said the money invested in the new branch clearly demonstrated the bank’s drive to work closer to the community and to provide an efficient service.

“Our branches remain our most important service delivery channel largely due to their accessibility to our clients. Every development made is based on the latest and most advanced technology to strengthen the service provided by our branch network rather than to substitute it. Our client remains at the core of all our activities and we consistently upgrade all our customer-facing processes. For this reason we reiterate our commitment to provide the highest quality customer service while rendering a personalized service to all our clients. This is the objective of today’s inauguration.”
