In keeping with its commitment towards the promotion of educational development, Bank of Valletta has donated a collection of books to the St Paul's Bay primary school library.

The donation was made by Mario Zarb, manager of Bank of Valletta's St Paul's Bay branch, to Lina Deguara, head of school, in the presence of members of the school's academic staff and students.

"Support towards enhancing the collection of books available at libraries is one of the initiatives we undertake under the education pillar of the BOV Community Programme," Mr Zarb said.

"Our aim is to promote educational development and we feel that this can be achieved by, among other initiatives, diversifying and keeping up to date the book collections available to students,"

Ms Deguara emphasised the importance of reading particularly among young children. "All our students have a library session included in their weekly timetable, highlighting the importance that our school gives to reading which, we feel, is an important element that contributes to the student's development," she said.
