A bouncer at Gianpula Nightclub, Stephen Ciangura, today denied seriously injuring a party reveller, Rene Brincat in an incident on Sta Marija night.
The police have accused Mr Ciangura, a serving soldier, of having kicked Mr Brincat in the face, fracturing his jaw.
Police Inspector Ramon Mercieca said that Mr Brincat had claimed that the bouncer had falsely accused him of urinating against a wall and an argument ensued. He was set upon and the bouncer allegedly fractured his jaw in a blow with the knee.
In court earlier today Mr Brincat's lawer asked for the case to be put off so that the parte civile and the defence could discuss compensation by the bouncer, but the defence insisted that Mr Ciangura was in no way admitting having caused the injuries.
The court decided that the hearing will continue on November 11.
