The Boston Celtics won again in Texas, overcoming the Dallas Mavericks 94-90 yesterday to gain a rare sweep of the NBA's three Texas teams.

In successive games, the Eastern Conference leaders beat the San Antonio Spurs, the Houston Rockets and Dallas, victory over Houston ending their 22-game winning streak. No team had beaten the three Texas teams in consecutive games since the Sacramento Kings did it in 2001.

"This was probably one of the better ones of the three," Celtics forward Paul Pierce told reporters after scoring 22 points and grabbing a season-high 13 rebounds.
