A Bosnian who lives in St Julian’s was this morning handed a one-year jail term suspended for a year after pleading not guilty to stealing a laptop from his employer just after he was sacked.

Elvir Cimirotic, 23, pleaded guilty to stealing the laptop from the offices Verdun Group last Monday.

He told the Court he had been working with the group for about four months and had been doing very well.

However, he was dismissed all of a sudden. He went to print his boarding pass so that he could return to his country, saw the laptop on a desk and decided to take it.
