PN General Secretary Paul Borg Olivier said today that the PN had a duty to respect the people's verdict as expressed on Saturday.

In comments at Naxxar counting hall, he said the record low turnout had had an impact on the outcome, particularly since it was most acute in the traditionally PN localities.

The PL won 55% of the votes on Saturday compared to 42% for the PN.

The PN, he said, remained committed, through its representatives, to do its best for every locality.
