The Maltese Association of Parents of State School Students has backed the provision of LGBTI books in schools, as it believes that an education system should equip young people for today’s realities using age-appropriate resources.

While it pointed out that it was the State’s right to establish a National Curriculum Framework of studies for all schools, any changes in the sexuality education curriculum should be implemented only after an open discussion with parents, ideally at school level, the association said.
