I know I've referred to the story of Alice and her wonderland a bit too much. But the more time passes the more we seem to be taking over her world.

Things are really getting rather topsy-turvy with parliament hardly seeing the usual fireworks and votes are never taken: makes it even more superfluous. Now Dr Franco Debono has told the world at large that he is super loyal and the biggest Nationalist in the universe. I see. Or rather even Alice in her wonderment would have been more confused than ever.

In one of my recent blog posts I talked about Dr Debono and he actually found time to read my piece and comment on it. Besides other words of wisdom he said I live on another planet.

Going back to my theory that we have gone down some magical hole resembling Alice's wonderland—is anyone getting a faint whiff of too many calls for heads of heads? Every day we get some maverick MP or some Labour Party representative calling for the resignation of this, that and all the others. Off with his head cries the Queen of Hearts in the Alice story. And that has become the way of our country too. Obviously no one ever resigns as we are hardly a land where resignations rule.

But then I looked at the UK. You know a so-called model of democracy and all that tripe. There, I used to be told, is where everyone resigns for the slightest wrongdoing. And I looked at David Cameron with Murdoch evil-doings and worse and guess what? No one seems to resign there any more and people in Great Britain actually say that resignations are now quite passé and unnecessary.

So even if ministers or chairmen do vile things we have to stop expecting their heads on a plate. Too messy for us and we seem to be following in the footsteps of the exalted dishers-out of democracy themselves—those great Brits.

And in case you are wondering—the way I see it, once Joseph Muscat and his merry men hitch up at Castille I can't see him changing course. After all every time something happens in his party or to his stalwarts all he says is that it's a personal matter and hardly needs head on plates. So if he does get crowned I foresee more and more of the same with inane calls for resignations and a complete disregard of such exhortations.

So Alice need not worry—we will surely remain firmly in her world of wonders. And remember it's not just anybody making this prophecy—I am the blogger from outer space.
