Three young men were yesterday conditionally discharged for 18 months after they admitted to threatening the police following drunken scenes in Swieqi.

Russians Nikolay Petrishin, 23 and Dmitry Toptumomov, 23, together with 26-year-old Moldovan Nicolaev Veaceslav admitted to threatening officers, being unable to take care of themselves because they were so drunk and swearing.

The three men were stopped in Swieqi after the police received reports about their behaviour. When police officers tried to arrest them the men threatened them, resisted arrest and disobeyed orders.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi conditionally discharged the men for 18 months after taking into consideration their early guilty pleas.
