It was certainly ‘black’ at the National Blood Transfusion Centre on Friday as very few people showed up to donate blood.

And the situation on Saturday is not any better so far, the centre said in a message on Facebook, as it encouraged people to show up and donate.

Blood can be donated at the Blood Transfusion Centre in Guardamangia between 8am and 6pm daily, and at the building annexed to the Qawra Parish between 8.30am and 1pm and at the new health clinic in Xewkija from 8am to 1pm on Sunday (tomorrow).

Donors should have their Identity Card, driving licence or Maltese passport.
