Opposition MPs Joe Mizzi and Leo Brincat have written to Speaker Michael Frendo asking him to convene a meeting of the House committee which had been set up to discuss the black dust problem.

They said in a statement they were calling for the meeting in view of the Mepa-commissioned report which indicated the Marsa power station as the likely source of the dust.

Although the report is dated March 2011, the select committee was not informed of its existence when it discussed the problem in June, the MPs said.
