Earthquakes, floods and natural disasters. This year has seen too many catastrophes – not to mention the man-made ones of local politics! What other horrors await patrons of this year’s festival of satire, Bla Kondixin?

Well, all the favourite characters with their biting humour will be present, and they will be joined by several new characters, to ensure a fresh fun experience for the audience. Ċikku ċ-ċiklist, the well-loved character, will join Fredu tat-Taxi, both played by Snits. Salvu l-Lajburist (Paul Portelli) now has settled as a loyal follower of Joseph Muscat, and has even dedicated a song to him. And the frustrated spinster Lucy Cocciattolo (Tanya Scicluna) is still looking for a husband... Joining them is Leigh-Anne Abela fresh from her studies in London, to bring back to life audience favourites Angolina, the minister’s daughter, and Gracie – who knows exactly which side her toast is buttered!

• Bla Kondixin is being held at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta today, tomorrow and Sunday and on November 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21. Performances start at 8 p.m. Tickets can be obtained from St James Cavalier by phone on 2122 3200, e-mail: boxoffice@sjcav.org or online: www.sjcav.org or www.blakondixin.com.
