Valletta 1 Marsaxlokk 0

Birkirkara 2 Msida SJ 2

Valletta kept up their good form by defeating Marsaxlokk 1-0 this afternoon.

The goal came from Cleavon Frendo just before half time, and was enough to keep the citizens well in touch with leaders Hibs and Birkirkara.

Earlier, an 81st minute penalty by Pedro dos Santos denied Birkirkara the three points against Msida St Joseph in the first Premiership match this afternoon.

Birkirkara got off to a good start, with Michael Galea scoring in the first quarter of an hour. Dos Santos equalised for Msida on the 22nd minute and Birkirkara then had Johnathan Holland sent off on the stroke of half-time.

They still managed to regain the lead courtesy of Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza on the 66st minute before the late penalty after Kevin Mifsud was brought down in the box saw the match end 2-2.
