The bishops of Malta and Gozo expressed concern about the fluid situation in the Middle East.

Archbishop Paul Cremona, Gozo Bishop Mario Grech and Auxiliary Bishop Annetto Depasquale said the Church believed that an absence of justice hindered peace and development.

In an appeal on Tuesday, they urged Maltese Catholics to pray for an end to the violence in North Africa.

The bishops requested an increase of invocation for these causes during Mass, while Eucharist adoration should be wholly dedicated to peace in the Middle East.
