The Bishops of Malta will celebrate Mass on the Palace Square in Valletta on June 7 as part of activities to mark the centenary since the Eucharistic Congress was held in Malta. The Mass will be followed by a procession to St John's Co-Cathedral.

The Eucharistic Congress, which attracted a Papal envoy and several Cardinals and Bishops to Malta, opened on April 23, 1913 and continued till April 27 when it was concluded with a procession from St John's to Floriana, where the Christ the King Monument, which commemorates the event, still stands.

Other activities to recall the event will include prayers, adoration and talks on the Blessed Sacrament in various parishes. The Curia will also host two conferences and present an oratorio commissioned to mark the centenary. Details will be announced shortly.
