Birkirkara’s U-17 squad will travel to Spain later this month for a six-day training camp in Valencia after receiving an invitation from the renowned La Liga club.

The Birkirkara group will be led by nursery delegates Robert Bray and Charles Camenzuli along with coach Jeffrey Mifsud. The squad, consisting of 19 players, will have five training sessions at Valencia’s training grounds under the guidance of Oscar Fernandez, the Valencia Academy coach.

The Stripes’ youngsters will also play two friendly matches during their stay in Spain and will attend the league match between Valencia and Real Zaragoza at the Mestalla stadium.

This is not the first time that Birkirkara are sending one of their teams for training overseas.

A few years back, the nursery secured a partnership agreement with Atalanta who boast one of the best-organised youth academies in Italy.
