Birkirkara - 2, Dingli - 0

Birkirkara scored a goal in each half to lower the colours of bottom-placed Dingli Swallows in a one-sided encounter at the National Stadium.

Dutch forward Sylvano Comvalius took centre stage for the Stripes when scoring both goals that lifted his team on top of the Premier League standings, level on points with Qormi.

Birkirkara took the lead on 13 minutes when Dingli keeper Jeffrey Farrugia failed to hold onto Michael Galea’s cross and in came Comvalius who rammed the ball home.

The Stripes kept the upperhand and despite their dominance they had to wait till the 87th minute to put the game beyond their opponents’ reach when Galea found Comvalius inside the area and the Dutchman rifled the ball past Farrugia.
