A large flock of long legged waders flew in on Thursday evening to roost in the Gnejna area. Malta is an important resting spot for waders like these Black Winged Stilts, and other migratory species. BirdLife Malta said today that 52 ornithologists and volunteers from eight countries are coming to Malta for the Spring Watch camp, which opened today and cotninues till April 26. They will join Maltese bird watchers in monitoring and recording spring migration, as well as reporting illegal hunting and trapping incidents to the police.
