Over 200 motorcycle owners took to the streets for the first annual “Malta and Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG) Mediterranean Run”, Rebels MC club president Ray Vassallo said.

The event, which took place over the weekend, came to a close yesterday with a ride through Swieqi and a get-together for enthusiasts in Buġibba.

They also rode through Valletta on Saturday. Riders made their way through the Tritons Fountain Square and into Republic Street, ultimately reaching St George’s Square.

Over 50 Harley Davidson motorcyclists took part in the ride, HOG treasurer Joanne Bartolo Chircop said.

However, the event was open to all motorcyclists, she added.

The HOG Malta chapter, which was founded in 2013, is part of a wider international group of Harley Davidson owners, Ms Bartolo Chircop said.

Rebels MC Malta, who also took part in the ride, said that the event was an opportunity for enthusiasts to come together and share their love of motorbikes.

This is like one big fraternity

“This is like one big fraternity,” Mr Vassallo said, adding that there was a big community of motorcycle enthusiasts.

There were over 40 clubs in the country, Mr Vassallo added, noting that riders could be seen sporting their club badges on their jackets during the three-day event.
