Rockestra tickets are still available after a pitch in sales spurred organisers to enlarge the standing area to avoid disappointment ahead of tonight’s innovative concer. The concert, which sees a blend of classical music with rock, last year attracted thousands of enthusiasts but many were disappointed when tickets were sold out shortly after they were put on sale.

“When we saw a surge in ticket sales this week, we decided to enlarge our standing area to be able to house more people,” said a spokesman for the organisers.

Tickets for the seated area were sold out three weeks ago, she said. The concert, in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, will take place at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre, Ta’ Qali, at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available from the President’s Palace and San Anton Palace.
