Unemployment last July was significantly down when compared to the previous year, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

According to data from the Employment and Training Corporation, 5,062 people looking for work last July, down from 6,834 in July last year.

The drop was registered across the board, irrespective of how long people had been registering for work.

Men accounted for 80.5 per cent of total registrants where the most sought occupations were in crafts and related trade sectors. Women mostly sought jobs as clerical support workers.
