Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi has expressed Parliament's solidarity with Bianca Zammit, the Maltese woman shot and injured during a peaceful Palestinian demonstration in the Gaza strip on Saturday. Leader of the Opposition Joseph Muscat raised the issue and asked the Dr Gonzi to indicate the nature of the representations made with the Israeli government in relation to the incident.

Dr Gonzi declared that Malta's Foreign Office has been in constant contact with Bianca Zammit and was following her case. The same office had also sent a note verbal to the Israeli government asking for the latter to provide information relevant to the incident and to explain the circumstances in which this occurred.
