Stephen Mizzi e-mailed the Sector Watch Repair Shop at Bata Shopping Complex, Sliema, saying:

'I am disappointed at the lack of professional service offered by your company. On June 10, I took my Sector watch for repair and was told that parts were needed for it.

'Since they had to be ordered from Italy and the Sector company was on shut down in August, I was assured that the parts would be delivered in the first week of September.

'I got no reply until September 23. I decided to call and a certain Daniel told me that parts had not yet arrived.

'I was also told that he had no idea when they would be delivered; and that he wasn't sure that the parts would be in the next delivery.

'I told him that such service was unacceptable, to which he replied that that is how things stood.

'I told him I would be collecting my unrepaired watch, to which he found no objection.

'I find such service unethical and unprofessional. A company like yours should have a responsible after-sales service where customers are treated differently.

'I am officially registering my complaint and request you to offer a solution to this mishap.'

What really matters is that on October 10, Mr Mizzi received a brief, to-the-point e-mail saying:

'Hi Stephen, just to inform you that your watch is ready and you can pick it up at your convenience.' (Daniel Genovese, After Sales)
